Directive Principles of State Policy (DPSP) are a set of guidelines for a country's or state's government which it needs to adhere to, in order to fulfill its obligations towards its citizens. On the other hand, Fundamental Rights are basic human rights given to the citizens by their country to provide necessary conditions for the development of the country. An important difference between them is that during a period of emergency, Fundamental Rights can be suspended but Directive Principles cannot.
