what is the difference between the i3,i5,i7 processers

i3, i5 and i7 refers to the number of cores a processor has. For example an i3 processor has 4 cores, i5 has 6 cores and an i7 processor has 8 cores. The more the number of cores, the higher is the capability of a computer to handle tasks simultaneously.
