South Africa's struggle for independence is quite similar to indian independence movement. Infact both were linked.

Both nations were under the same colonial empire, both suffered racial discrimination and in both places there were indians.

But major similarity was the way the struggle for independence i.e. the path of non violent disobedience that took birth in South Africa by Gandhiji.

But South Africa route to independence was much harder. While the British renounced the ownership of South Africa, it transferred the powers to white colonialists who were proxies for the West.
