Conductors are very good supplier of heat and electricity. Insulators are very bad supplier of heat and electricity and they do not allow electricity to flow through. We use copper and aluminium in wires because they are good conductors of electricity and we use plastic and ceramic in upper layer of wire because plastic is very bad conductor of electricity.

(e.i of conductors = gold, silver, copper and aluminium) and (e.i of insulator = rubber, plastic and ceramic)
