Let's analyze them..

Molecule of an element -

The molecules of an element contains same type of atoms.
Many molecules of that atom can be made from that same type of atom.
For example --> Oxygen (O)
The molecule of oxygen consists 2 atoms (O₂)
The molecule of oxygen also consists 3 atoms (O₃)
Here, the atoms of are of same type.

Molecule of a compound --

Molecule of a compound is formed when atoms of different elements that means atoms of different types join together in definite proportions to form compound.
Many molecules of compound can't be formed
For example --> H₂O
It is made of atoms of different element, they aren't of same type. And the compound is formed only by definite proportion that is 1:8 by mass.

First of all u need to understand what molecules are ,molecules may be defined as the group of atoms of same species or of different species .
Molecules of elements comprises of same kind of atoms in it ,for example let us take ,H2 hydrogen molecule comprises of same hydrogen atoms .

Molecules of compounds comprises of atoms of different elements ,let us take CO2 , each molecule of CO2 comprises of one carbon atom and 2 oxygen atoms .
Thats what the main difference is .
