real images are formed on the opposite side of the lens to the object it can be obtained on screen and a real image is inverted with respect to the object whereas a lens is a transparent reflecting medium with a spherical surface or on one or both the sides. lenses are of two types:
convex or converging lens and concave or diverging lens.
