What is the difference between the system of reservation of constituencies and the system of separate electorate? why did the constitution makers reject the latter?

Reserved constituencies means in the sarasa constituencies some particular social group only can participate in that but they are elected by a General Electric means general all the people
On the other hand separate electorate means a candidate of particular social community can participate in particular constituencies and the people who are selecting that Candidate should be in that community itself no other separated community can make their vote in this process
