Answer:

The difference between a tiger in a zoo and in a forest is huge as in the former it is a caged animal who has lost its freedom whilst in the latter it is independent and supreme. Poet has deep sympathy due to the unpleasant situation of the tiger who is imprisoned in a cell made of concrete. Tiger is unable to come out due to the strong bars fixed at the concrete cell. So, the tiger's strength is locked behind the bars. All such circumstanced are making tiger having no interest in the visitors. He says that the poor tiger should have been in his natural habitat that is in the wild forest. He says that under normal conditions, this tiger would have been moving in the darkness not in the clear daylight. The tiger feels slave in the concrete cell. It feels like a prisoner. It misses its freedom in the forest where it should be lurking in the shadows; stalking its prey in the long grass near water hole, where deer come to drink water and where it lurks to pounce on them. A tiger in the zoo and a tiger in it's natural habitat are the two images in the poem .
