What is the difference between torque and couple?

Answer:

Torque is force x displacement. When certain amount of force is applied on a body in any particular direction with the other end fixed, a torque is produced. Couple is a case of torque where u have equal forces acting in opposite direction. For eg. Tightening a bottle cap. Couple always has center of rotation.
