The differences between the triangles and the quadrilaterals are:

  • A three-sided closed figure is called a triangle.
  • A four-sided closed figure is called a quadrilateral.
  • The sum of all the angles of a triangle is 180°.
  • The sum of all the angles of a quadrilateral is 360°.
  • A triangle has 3 sides, 3 vertices, and 3 angles.
  • A quadrilateral has 4 sides, 4 vertices, and 4 angles.
  • A triangle has altitudes, heights but not diagonals.
  • A quadrilateral has all heights, altitudes, and diagonals.
