What is the difference between tropic movement and nastic movement?

Nastic Movement:

  1. It is neither towards nor away from stimulus.
  2. This movement is not directional.
  3. This movement is of short period.
  4. Once the stimulus is given movement can be seen.
  5. Growth doesn't takes place.
  6. example, Dandelion flower, moon flower.

Tropic movement:

  1. It is either towards or away from the stimulus.
  2. This movement is directional.
  3. This movement take long time.
  4. Continuous/source is needed.
  5. Growth take place.
  6. example, Phototropism, Geotropism, etc.
