This may look just like Dalton's law, but there are different pressures involved. The partial pressure of agas is the pressure exerted by a gas in the volume occupied by a mixture of gases, while the vapor pressure of a gas is the pressure exerted by a gasover its condensed phase.

___________________________________________________________

Vapour pressure

1.The pressure of a vapour in contact with its liquid or solid form.

2. SI unit is pascal

3.Examples: Water-2.3kPa vapor pressure(SI unit)

Gas pressure

1. The pressure of a gas is the force that the gas exerts on the walls of its container.

2.Ex:
When you blow air into a balloon, the balloon expands because the pressure of air molecules is greater on the inside of the balloon than the outside.

3. Formula:
PV = nRT
