what is the difference between vasectomy and tubectomy?

Vasectomy is basically removal ( ectomy - removal) of this vas deferens which renders the male sterile. Tubectomy is the sterilization done in females. Here a part of fallopian tubes (where fertilization of sperm and ovum takes place) is removed and the rest of it is tied.
