The mass of an object is the quantity of matter contained in it
The weight of an object is the force with witch it attracted toward the center of earth

The mass of a body is the quantity of matter contained in it.
mass is a scalar quantity which has only magnitude but no direction. mass of an object is universal constant. it is not in differ from place to place.

the SI unit of mass is kilogram but
the weight of a body is the force with which it is attracted towards the centre of the earth.

weight is a vector quantity having magnitude as well as direction.
SI unit of weight is Newton.
weight is not a Universal constant it is differ from place to place.
