lopi is a dual fiber pulled into thin roving which is knitted directly into projects. It has a very little twist and is a step between sliver and roving. the two different length fibres allow for better strength and cohension yet hold less twist than yarn

A roving is a carded preparation whether pro- duced by hand or industrial equipment. A sliver is a thinner variant of a roving. Sliver doesn't have any twist to it at all, while roving has a tiny bit of twist (not spinning twist, but a slight twist to the entire rope).
