what is the difference 'distance ttavelled' by a body and its'displacement' ? exaplain with the help of a diagram

distance travelled is the total original path traced by the body.

whereas the displacement is the shortest distance between final and initial positions.

For ex: a body is on a circular path.

initially it was at point A and now its at point B where point A and B are diametrically opposite points.

therefore distance=πR

displacement=2R

where R is radius of path.
