Answer:

Near the horizon, most of the blue light and shorter wavelengths are scattered away by the particles present in the atmosphere during sunrise and sunset.) So, the light that reaches our eyes is of longer wavelengths (e.g. red). This gives rise to the reddish appearance of the sky. But during the day, only blue colour of light gets scattered by the atmospheric particles, so it seems blue during the day.

During Sunrise and sunset, sun is red in colour while at noon, the sun appears white.

At noon, the sun is overhead. The sunlight passes through rares layers of air and covers short distance before reaching our eyes. so, almost all colours of light are scattered equally. hence the sun appears white.

During Sunrise and sunset the rays have to travel a larger part of the atmosphere because they are very close to the horizon. Therefore, Light other than red is mostly scattered away. most of the red light, which is the least scattered, enters our eyes. Hence, the sun and sky appears red.
