what is the difference in dispersion of white light and scattering of white light??

Dispersion of light occurs when white light is separated into its differentconstituent colors because of refraction and Snell's law. ... White light enters a prism on the left, then is separated according to wavelength into a rainbow pattern.

Dispersion means splitting of white light into 7 colors.
and scattering means throwing of white light in different directions.
