Okay so this is a pretty straight forward question
Y=2X+1---------------1
X+3Y=10
3Y=10-X
Y=(10-X)/3------------2
Sub 2 in 1
(10-X)/3=2X+1
10-X=6X+3
7X=7
X=1
Use that in any given equation to get
Y=3
Therefore:X-Y=3-1=2
