The difference between standard software and custom software is as follows:

1. Standard software is pre-fabricated products whereas custom software is specially developed for customers specifically.

2. Standard software are web-based services that a consumer pays for either by taking subscriptions or by usage. Custom software is needed when a customer has a new product idea they would like to use and make available for the market.

3. Standard software often do not meet the exact needs of the customers whereas the custom software is perfectly tailored to meet the needs of its customers.

4. The cost of standard software is cheaper than custom software because standard software costs can be divided amongst several customers whereas custom software price usually has to be paid by one person.
