Answer:

Mountain soil usually contains a rich deposit of minerals and moisture making it fertile for most crops or livestock. Desert soil grows very little because the soil is either deprived of water or there's severe cold/hot conditions that don't allow moderate climate growth. They are high mountains full of snow and potential water ( when snow melts ). Deserts are arid, powdery and the winds blow sand everywhere. Deserts are always changing according to the winds. These winds are also a major source of allergies and pollutants in other nearby countries, such as the Gobi desert which can affect China, The Koreas, Japan etc… Not much grows in deserts even though there are exceptions such as oases and some hardy plants. Desertification happen when trees are cut and the soil loses its nourishing base. Mountains , such as the Himalayas, could be seen as a form of desert as vegetation can be scarce as well but not for the same reasons. In the end, mountains with snow are better for humanity than the aridity of deserts.
