- generally smaller in size 1-10 um
- nucleod (genetic material) is not surrounded by a nuclear membrane and is in direct contact with cytoplasm..
- prokaryotic cell contains single chromosome..
- nucleus is absent in projaryotic cell..
- membrane bound call organelles are also absent..
- they are always unicellular..
- example: bacteria, blue green algae etc...
eukaryotic cell:
- they are generally larger in size 5-100 um.
- distict nucleus is present and nuclear material is surrounded by a nuclear membrane and is not in direct contact with cytoplasm..
- contains more than one chromosome..
- nucleus is present..
- membrane bound cell organelles are present..
- often multicellular..
- example: fungi, plant and animal cell..
