Nuclear fusion- it is the process in which two or more light nuclei combine to form a heavy nucleus when bombarded with slow neutrons
With release of large amount of energy
Ex- hydrogen bombs
Nuclear fission- it is the process in which a heavy excited nucleus breaks up into Light nuclei with release of tremendous amount of energy when bombarded with slow neutrons.
Ex - atom bombs , nuclear reactors
