Metal is the purified version of ore, Ore still has yet to be processed and turned into metal.

So basically Metals are generally referred to in it's purest form. For example the elements and metals you come across in your school labrotary are "Metals" in their purest form.

On the other hand, Ores are not the purest form of metal. I.e they contain the metal you want but are chemically bonded with other elements. Ores are also referred to as minerals of metals. These are generally found by miners and quarries.
