What is the differentiate between deforestation and desertification.

Please answer the above question.

Deforestation:

1. It is removal, decrease or deterioration of forest cover of an area.
2. Rainfall decreases to only minor extent.

3. Moderation of temperatures is reduced.

4. It leads to soil erosion.

5. Deforestation often causes flash floods.

Desertification:

1. It is conversion of former moist and fertile land into arid desert area.

2. Rainfall is less than the potential evaporation.

3. Temperature is either high or low.
4. Desertification is a product of soil erosion.

5. Floods do not occur.

deforestation = cutting down of trees in large scale due to which it causes soil erosion.
desertification = a process by which fertile land become desert ,typically as a result for drought, deforestation etc.
