Given sum can be solved using U / V method or Quotient Rule.

Quotient Rule :  \frac{d }{dx} ( \frac{u}{v} ) = \frac{ v ( \frac{du}{dx} ) - u ( \frac{dv}{dx} ) }{v^2}

In the above case, u = x² and v = y. Applying Quotient Rule we get,

RHS :

=> ( 1 / y ) × d ( x² ) / dx

=> ( 1 / y ) * 2x = [ Applying xⁿ = nxⁿ⁻¹ identity ]

=> 2x / y

Hence the derivative is 2x / y.
