What is the differnce between saponification reaction and esterification reaction?

Saponification: It is the method of preparation of soaps. It is made by carboxylic acid reaction with any base. There is  no need of catalyst here.
Esterification: It is the method of preparation of esters which have a frooti smell. It is made by the reaction of carboxylic acid with alcohol. Catalyst is required to complete the reaction.....
