What is the differnce between threshing and winnowing?

Threshing is beating grain with a huge piece of wood or stone to settle the impurities on top, to make it easily removable. Winnowing is throwing it against a source of pressure to make the impurities, which are lighter, to float with it, while the grain falls straight down.
