A deformed bar is a type of concrete rebar with a rough surface for better cement or mortar bonding. It is a steel bar with surface projections to improve the bond strength when used in reinforced concrete.

TOR is actually a brand name - Toristeg Steel Corporation of Luxembourg. It is commonly known as Cold Twisted Deformed Steel bar due to its popularity.  Other types of steel are used for less resistance concrete. TOR Steel bars are used in steel structures. it has more tensile stress than the mild steel bars.
