For one mole, therefore, pV/T = R. The dimensions of the universal gas constant R are energy per degree per mole.

or

explanation ;-

UNIVERSAL GAS CONSTANT(R)

The volume occupied by one gram mole of the gas remains same for all the gases.

The volume occupied by one gram mole of the gas at normal temperature(T) and pressure (P) is ‘V’ then

(PV) /T = R

This constant ‘R’ is called Universal gas constant. Its value remains same for all gases.

The value of R is 8.32 Jkg/moleK

Dimensional formula of Universal gas constant is

Universal gas constant = energy /(temperature *mole)

ML^2T^-2/(K*mol)

ML^(2) T^(-2) K^(-1) mol^(-1)....
