Units and dimensions of energy are same as those of work.

Therefore,

Energy=Work= Force x Displacement

Force=mass∗acceleration

Unit of Force =kgm/s²

So dimension ofForce=Mass∗Length/Time2=[MLT–²]

Dimension of Displacement=[L]

So dimension of Work or Energy= [MLT−2]∗[L]=[ML²T–²]
