Surface tension is the amount of force you need to apply per unit length to stretch the area of a liquid by 1 square unit.
Hence surface tension, T = F/l; it’s unit is Newton/meter and dimension MT^-2
Tension is force, actually a special kind of force that relate to stretching, for example the force prevalent on a stretched string is said to be the tension of the string. Unit of tension is same as that of force ie. Newton and the dimension is MLT^-2
