What is the direction of a ball if it feels a force both one dioganal

Imagine that the diagonal motion is composed of motion in x and y directions. Here, third law is obviously satisfied ie when thrown diagonally, its impact is affected ideally in he vertical direction alone, so it bounces up. But what about the horizontal motion? According to first law it continues to move forward until and unless u place another wall so that another reaction can be set up which reverses the ball horizontally. See resolution of vectors.
