What is the direction of magnetic lines of force inside a bar magnet?

So the field lines travel outwards from one side of the loop, the North pole, round to the other side, the South pole, then go inside the loop to complete their circuit. This has to happen because magnetic field lines cannot begin or end so they always have to form closed loops.

The lines of magnetic field from a bar magnet form closed lines. By convention, the field direction is taken to be outward from the North pole and in to the South pole of the magnet. Permanent magnets can be made from ferromagnetic materials.
