In form, the dispersing medium is liquid and dispersed phase is gas

For Example:- Shaving cream.

OR

When dispersing medium is solid and dispersed phase is gas then foam is formed

For Example:- rubber, sponge.

The phase that is scattered or present in the form of colloidal particles is called dispersed phase and the medium in which the colloidal particles are dispersed is called the dispersion medium.In a starch solution ,starch represents the dispersed phase while water represents the dispersion medium.

Dispersion medium

  • A continuous medium, like a gas, liquid, or solid, in which a disperse phase is distributed, it is often called External Phase.

The dispersed phase and dispersion medium of fog respectively are liquid and gas. It is an example of liquid aerosol.
