We know that displacement is the change in position per time.

D = s / t

s = change in position.

It is a vector quantity given by direction and magnitude.

What is a displacement vector then ?

Displacement vector is the change in the final and the initial vectors .

Let the initial vector be d.

Let final vector be D .

Displacement vector Δ d = D - d

The displacement vector has a wide application in kinematics and motion.
