On putting the values in formula:

$d = \sqrt{ {( - 1 - 2)}^{2} + {(4 - ( - 3))}^{2} }$

$d = \sqrt{ {( - 3)}^{2} + {(4 + 3)}^{2} }$

$d = \sqrt{9 + {(7)}^{2} }$

$d = \sqrt{9 + 49 } \\ = \sqrt{58} \: \: \: \:$
