For a full circle, the horse will cover a distance of 2πr. After completing hall round, when you see distance and displacement together as a single shape, it'll be a semicircle with the distance becoming there curved part while displacement being the straight line. Therefore displacement after half round will be the diameter which is equal to 2×r
