Answer:

My Mother at Sixty-six is based on the theme of advancing age and the fear of loss and separation associated with it. The poetess undergoes a plethora of emotions when she sees her mother ageing, and feels the pangs of separation at the thought of losing her.

Answer:

Kamla Das was very famous poetess in Indian English literature. My Mother at sixty six is a poem written by Kamala Das.

She was worried about the growing age of her mother because she found that because of her old age her mothers activities are reduced. Her mother's face looks pale and wan. She is really concerned about her mother's old age and seperation from her. The poetess feels that her mother is very close to the death and this thought makes her restless.

Through this poem Kamla Das expresses her love towards her mother and her emotions of separation.
