What is the distinguishing feature between evergreen and deciduous forest?

evergreen forests grow in plces which have really very high ammount of rainfall (about 1000mm and above)

and decidious forests grow in places which have moderate type of rainfall(about 500mm and above).

In India, one can find evrgreen forests in the western coast of india and in the eastern coast of bengal; especially in the sunderbans.

Also one can find deciduos forests in the central plateau which contains most of the deccan plateau and chhota nagpur plateau region...
