Divine Right Theory is the idea that you have your privileges, your rights, by act of God, or the divine. So a king is in his place, deciding life and death decisions, because God put him there. ( in China, I believe it was called the “Mandate of Heaven”) If you challenge that king, then you are challenging God's will.
