the dominant phase in life cycle of mosses is gametophyte which consists of 2 stages
1.the first stage is juvenile stage, is the protonema , which develops directly from spore.It is a creeping green,branched and frequently filamentous stage.
2.the second stage is the adult leafy stage called gametophore, which develops from the protonema as a lateral adventitious bud.
