The limitations of Ohm's law are outlined below: This law cannot be applied to unilateral networks. A unilateral network has unilateral elements like diode, transistors, etc., which do not have same voltage current relation for both directions of current. Ohm's law is also not applicable for non – linear elements.

1.) The main drawback of Ohm’s law is, It is not applicable on the terminal of battery or voltage source. Voltage at the terminal of source will always constant with the respect of current.

2.) It is only applicable where temperature and surroundings condition are constant during action.

3.) It is only applied on linear elements like Resistor , Inductor and Capacitor.
