Summers tend to be warmer and winters colder. Also, temperatures tend to be higher near the equator and lower near the poles.

The earth's mean temperate is -46°C to 42°C. The advantage of this temperature is that it allows us to do work smoothly like growing vegetables, and it also helps earth to make its proper rotation within its orbit.
