Due to continuous depletion of ground water along the coastal region, saline sea water will rush inside the underground fresh water chambers. This will result in mixing of saline water with fresh water and the quality of water will decrease. As sea water contains high amount of minerals and salts it will not be suitable for drinking also. Thus the drinking water quality and taste will also deteriorate by this intrusion of saline water.
