Answer: The pH of acid will increase and pH of base will decrease.

Explanation:

On dilution of acid, the concentration of acid solution will decrease. The solution will become less acidic i.e, its pH will increase.(on the pH scale, which ranges from 1 to 14: 1 is most acidic, 1 to 6- acidity decreases, 7- neutral, 8 to 14- bascity increases and 14 is most basic).

On dilution of base the concentration of alkali solution will decrease and hence its pH will decrease.
