What is the effect of DNA copying , which is not perfectly accurate , on the reproduction process

variations tht lead to evolution
due to the imperfection in process of DNA copying during reproduction in animals it leads to some variations in progeny which may be or may not be useful for their survival
but often in the cause of evolution it seen that they are useful n have helped in progressive evolution of that species
