What is the effect of forward biasing a p-n junction on the width of deplition region around it?

The width of the depletion region decreases.

Explanation:

In forward biasing positive terminal of the battery is connected with the P side and negative terminal is connected with the N type. Positive and negative charges come out from the battery and combine with the negative and positive ions present in the depletion region respectively. Due to this combination, depletion region width decreases.
