on the 14th day of menstrual cycle there is sharp increase in the amount of LH of n blood.
this causes ovulation (that is release of ovum from graafian follicle)

then this graafian follicle is transformed Into corpus luteum and if fertilization occur the corpus luteum stays otherwise it degenerates.
