Red litmus: If the litmus paper is red, sulphuric acid will not have any effect on the paper. The litmus paper will remain red. ... Therefore, in the presence of sulphuric acid, phenolphthalein turns colourless.

Sulphurous acid (H2SO3) is an acid. The main use of litmus is to test whether a solution is acidic or basic. Blue litmus paper turns red under acidic conditions. So sulphuric acid turns blue litmus into red.

Dilute sulphuric acid will turn the color of China rose indicator to red or dark pink. China Rose is actually an acid base indicator, which reacts with acid to change its color to Red.

If we put a drop of an acid on this turmeric paper (which has been turned red by a base), then the turmeric paper will change from red to yellow. This is because acid cancels the effect of base and restores the original yellow colour of turmeric paper.
